Cotterill Civils, B2B suppliers of land drainage solutions, felt held back by their then-partnerships and so approached us to evaluate new platform options. We therefore migrated them to Shopify to support their content and sales strategy. This included the implementation of complex delivery requirements for the UK.

Migration to Shopify

We managed a complex migration from WordPress and WooCommerce to Shopify. As Cotterill Civils is B2B focused, the new site is designed as both a lead generating and transactional solution, incorporating Price on Application (POA) products. This website design, using Shopify development, has also helped support their content strategy using well-positioned blogs to capture visitors looking for product solutions.

Complex Delivery Solution

Comprehensive delivery requirements were distilled into a maintainable solution, integrating with Brightpearl. This included complex shipping rules as part of the client’s own and supplier-organised delivery services. Product weight and product dimensions were factored in, as were multiple items per pallet calculations. Ultra Low Emission Zone surcharges were also implemented.

Doofinder was implemented to support search queries, enhancing the search system. Additions included synonym matches, the boosting of preferred products, as well as managing technical part names and numbers.

Klaviyo Integration

We migrated Cotterills Civils from Malichimp to Klaviyo, taking advantage of email marketing flows and customer segmentation through its seamless integration with Shopify. Customers can sign up to these email newsletters on either desktop or mobile using a form that shows when they first land on the site.
