Shopify Plus integration with Aptean's Prima Solutions for this multichannel brand.
Background
Weekend Offender, a successful global retailer, approached us to support the go-live of a new ERP system. We helped assist them with this, creating connections to Prima Solutions from Shopify Plus. This included the planning of what data to synchronise and integral collaboration to maximise the integration’s capabilities.
Technical specification
Analysing the technical specification, we planned what data to synchronise, the transformations needed and the optimal schedules to create the best customer experience. This involved the collaboration between three parties to then document and agree on the approach to be taken.
Data synchronisation & order download
We integrated Weekend Offender’s global site running on Shopify with Prima Solutions (Prima). This not only synchronises stock, but also customers, fulfilment details and any credit notes for returns. In addition, this enables order downloads for accounts reconciliation and reporting, ultimately helping to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
Live stock lookup
An overnight stock sync was agreed between us and Weekend Offender. However, due to the fast-moving nature of the products, as well as the ERP’s lack of ability to push ‘on change’ updates, we ensured the stock would be checked upon customer navigation to the checkout. This helped avoid overselling items and related customer service issues.
Returns and refunds
To save manual interventions and improve accuracy, we made sure that any refunds processed with Shopify Payments will create an equivalent credit note in Prima Solutions. As a result, this credit note is matched and logged against the corresponding order and customer in Prima.
