In order to save SD Products time from manual product imports and stock calculations, we replaced their existing solution with our integration middleware. This schedules an XML file of their stock feed from the ERP, which is then imported and the stock mapped via our integration app, factoring in pack sizes and boxes. The dashboard then provides full transparency of any data migrated between platforms, with clear reporting to provide reassurance of the system integrity.

SD Products provide parts diagrams and interactive tables on their product pages to help customers find the correct technical part for them. Each of these products is available in a large number of variations, which are presented on the product page as an interactive table using data tables. This not only enables a larger amount of information to be neatly presented, but also shows stock levels, available pack sizes, and prioritisation of table information such as hole size, panel size and part diameter. This helps provide a convenient product discovery and selection process for customers.

Product tables not only enable customers to buy multiple items from the same page with plus and minus buttons, but also display pack size information. Through this table, we enabled customers to purchase pack sizes for hardware components, making it more convenient for B2B purchases. This also makes use of Magento’s tiered discounts to offer larger discounts to customers for larger orders being placed on parts, encouraging them to increase their order value. Customers can now purchase packs of multiple screws, with stock levels and price calculations managed as the pack size is updated.

Each product page provides a clear enquiry journey into the website, helping customers in cases where there may be limited stock or new products in development. These ‘Enquire Now’ buttons are shown throughout the site, such as next to clear stock messages. Customers can then click this to go through a digital enquiry journey, or are encouraged to contact the sales team via phone.
